Title: Electrical Powerline Technician
Location: Jal, NM and Surrounding Areas
Schedule: 5/2 Rotation (5 days on 2 days off)
Hours: 9 to 12 hour days (Rotational Weekend Call Outs Required)
Pay: For this role depends on experience within the range $35 - $40
Hierarchy Breakdown:
Reports to: Directly to the Electrical Foreman for the Jal, NM Area
Works Directly Alongside: All Electrical Crews and Personnel working in his or her field.

Top Focus of this Position:
= As a Powerline Tech, you are a key member to the operation of the I/E department with a wide array of responsibilities.
Electrical Powerline Technician will have Knowledge and Ability to Perform the Following:
= Perform lineman work on new construction, maintenance projects, or repair work on new, old and pre-existing power lines.
= Knowledge in all aspects of powerline construction, maintenance, and protocols.
= Working knowledge of reclosers, capacitors, voltage regulators, and transformers.
= Can calculate fuse coordination, proper fuse sizing and placement, along with transformer fuse sizing and service wire sizing as per NEC spec.
= Knowledge of Right-of-Way standards and the ability to design powerline routes, draft prints, write up materials lists, and stake line as needed.
= Tests electrical equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
= Complete Job Folders which include the following but is not limited to:
Job Print, GPS Map, KMZ File, Priced Material List, ROW clearing acknowledgement.
= Plan jobs to ensure compliance with approved safety and construction standards and procedures.
= Regularly works above ground on poles or steel towers using climbers and safety belt or operating man lift equipment, boom truck or other specialized equipment.
= Routes or re-routes power lines over, under or around existing lines and structures, regularly working above, on, or in close proximity to energized lines.
Qualifications:
= Able to preform electrical equipment installations, inspections, and troubleshooting tasks to maximize production and enhance the reliability of the operation.
= This position requires the individual to be highly self-motivated and detail oriented.
= A minimum of 4-year Electrician experience is required
= A minimum of 2-years Upstream experience is required
= Journeyman’s Electrician License Preferred
= Proficient in the use of instruments to measure electrical current and voltages
= Must be familiar with induced voltage.
= Operate and perform activities in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures (Federal, State, and local policies and procedures).
= Must be willing to undergo background check and driving record check.
= Must be willing and able to pass non-DOT drug screening / physical.
